We have had a wonderful time in Thailand, both in Hua Hin and Bangkok and we are very sad to be going home as we’ll be making our way to Bangkok airport soon.
On our final night in Bangkok, we went to an amazing Thai restaurant recommended by the hotel concierge in the Lumphini area of the city called Ruen Urai. It is hidden down a side street and when you are inside the restaurant it is as if you are in the Thailand countryside. This is fully recommended. We took a taxi here and a little tip – make sure they put the meter on as we were quoted 300 Baht but we asked for the metered journey and it actually only cost 50 Baht.
We were able to keep our room until 1pm and our pick up wasn’t until 4:30pm so we took the opportunity to do some last minute shopping before we head back to blighty.
Our Etihad chauffeur turned up and we made our way to Bangkok airport.
Once at Bangkok airport we checked in (the business class queue was empty) and went through fast track security. We were in the departure lounge within 10 minutes after arrival. A really good buy at the airport is orchids which were about 1,200 Baht for 50 stems.
