During our time in Hua Hin, we decided to eat out in various places around the city and we thought we would give a round up of some of the places:

White Lotus

Situated at the top of the Hilton Hua Hin, this affords some of the best views across Hua Hin. The service is professional but not that friendly and the food in this Chinese restaurant is not the best we have eaten. The food and drink are quite expensive for Thailand (think 370 THB for 2 local beers) but the views are definitely worth it.

Carlo

This Italian restaurant is literally a 5 minute walk from the Centara Hotel. It is owned by an remarkable Italian chef and the atmosphere is quite laid back with plenty of outdoor seating. We had some amazing pasta dishes which were some of the pasta we have had across the world including some of the restaurants in Italy itself. The wine was also very drinkable and reasonable (which is unusual for Thailand). This restaurant was so good that we went back there later in the week. A 2 course meal for 2 with a bottle of wine will set you back around 1,500 THB and it gets very busy at a weekend so we would recommend you book if you want a particular table.

Wine Connection Hua Hin

This is part of the Bluport shopping mall. One of the newest shopping malls in Hua Hin (the other being the Market Village). It does some tasty lamb chops and burgers and it reasonably priced. It also has plenty of outdoor seating and, as the name suggests, a large selection of wine (albeit expensive).

Orchids

This traditional Thai restaurant was probably one of the cheapest, but one of the best we had been to all week. The chicken and ginger with egg fried rice is to die for. Well recommended.

Chocolate Factory Hua Hin

If you like your chocolate, you will love this. We went one lunch time and had a chocolate fondue with plenty of fruit (including strawberries – a rarity in Thailand). There are also plenty of chocolatey souvenirs to take home should you wish – if they don’t melt before you get home that is!
