I decided to go to Disney Springs this evening as I had a reservation for the Rainforest Café.
Disney Springs in Orlando has really changed since I last went here when it was called Downtown Disney. It had a really vibrant atmosphere with many places to eat, drink and shop with street entertainers and singers. It is a really nice (albeit busy) place to go of an evening. I got the bus from the Dolphin Hotel and it took about 20 minutes after it called at the Yacht and Beach Clubs. They appear to run about every 10 minutes. Disney have a major transport system in place which is extremely efficient.
I arrived at the Rainforest Café for our reservation and am glad I did as the wait time for a table was one and a half hours. If you don’t have a reservation then get a Landry’s Select Card for $25 which gets you first available seating and the fee can be used as a credit against any food you buy. It can also be used at T Rex which was equally busy. If it is your birthday then you get an additional $25 bonus to use against your meal.
The food and service was excellent. I have never been to one before and I found the simulated monsoons and animatronic animals fun. I would definitely go back.
