Today I went to Animal Kingdom. I arrived at 8am for the early extra magic hour and it was well worth it. I made my way straight to the Safari as I was told that early morning is a good time to see the animals as it is still cool. It was really interesting as I saw a variety of animals including giraffes, zebras and lions. By the time I got off the wait time had increased to 20 minutes.

I had a bit of a wait until my first fastpass so I went to Starbucks for a muffin and a coffee then made my way to the first one, Everest. This rollercoaster ride was fantastic and was well worth the use of a fastpass as the wait time was in excess of 40 minutes.
The second fastpass of the day in Animal Kingdom was for Dinosaur. This was another excellent ride with really good theming.
The final fastpass of the day was for Kali River Rapids. This was a bit of a disappointing ride. You got very wet but the ride was very short with only one mild drop. Probably good for young kids but disappointing for us.
I went to see the Lion King show which was a 30 minute summary version of the film. It was excellent with very talented singers, acrobats and floats and I could see this again and again. They sung all the main songs such as Circle of Life.

After a walk around the park and looking at the other animals on the wildlife trail such as the apes and birds I decided to take the train up to the Rafiki’s Conservation Station which was a bit like a petting zoo. I got to stroke pygmy goats and see alpacas.
Tomorrow afternoon we have the Magic Kingdom.
