Universal has their own fireworks and lights display in Universal Studios called the Cinematic Experience where they celebrate over 100 years of movies.
Before I took up my place to view this, I went on the Terminator 3D attraction but I quickly realised why I didn’t want to go on it again after last time. The show was old and outdated with old fashioned 3D technology. I wouldn’t be surprised if Universal get rid of this at some point as the theatre was half empty.
I took my place for the Cinematic experience by Springfield. This was a good viewing point but it was a shame that they didn’t turn off the musical horn from the Taco truck as this meant it drowned out some of the narration.
Seeing all the movies from over the years was really good but the fireworks were not a patch on Disney. However, it was good to see it at least once.
After the show I went over to Citywalk and used my hotel privileges to get a table within 10 minutes at NBC brew and grill. The wait was 10 minutes for me as opposed to 30 minutes generally. I had steak and beef sliders. The sliders were cold so we had to send it back but this was dealt with quickly and efficiently with an apology. I still wasn’t keen on the sliders as they were more just like loose mince instead of patties.
As it was my last night in Citywalk I decided to go to the Rising Star karaoke bar. There were not many people in there and the cover charge was $7 each if you didn’t have a multi day park ticket. It really wasn’t worth it as the drinks were very expensive and their unique selling point of a live band was lost as they didn’t have one on this particular night. Save your money and go somewhere else more interesting.
