This evening I decided to make my way to Universal Citywalk to eat at Antojitos, a Mexican restaurant. I had made a reservation for 7.30pm and I was glad I did as the wait was over an hour for those who hadn’t booked.

The food was amazing and so was the service. The Disney restaurants could learn a thing or two. I had a couple of Mojitos whilst I looked at the menu and I chose the guacamole and chips to start. The portion sizes are huge here! I had chips and dip before I even got the starter and the guacamole was made tableside to my liking by the guy I called “guacamole boy”

I then had my main course of chicken and beef fajitas. The steak melted in your mouth and the flour tortillas were homemade.

As I was eating I was entertained by a Mariachi band (I requested a table with a view of these when I booked and this was honoured) and they played traditional Mexican music with the odd modern song thrown in such as “Uptown Funk”. This really added to the atmosphere.

My server was excellent. Very attentive and I didn’t feel like I was rushed at any point even though they were busy. If I was here longer we would go back.

After dinner I made my way around Universal Citywalk and had an ice-cream for dessert in Cold Stone Creamery. The cake mix ice cream was amazing and this flavour is definitely the future. I didn’t eat it all as it was massive.

Tired, full and happy, I made my way back to the comfort of the hotel.
