After the two and a half hour chauffeur ride to Hua Hin, we arrived at our hotel – The Centara Grand Hotel and Villas. It is one of the oldest hotels in Hua Hin and was the old railway hotel when people used to come and visit from Bangkok and it is right on the beachfront. It has a very colonial feel to it and all the staff we encountered were happy to help and would greet you warmly.

We checked in to the hotel and were given a welcoming drink which is made out of Butterfly Pea Flower called “nam dok anchan”. It was a strange tasting drink which was a little sweet but was nice and refreshing after our long drive.

We had to wait a short while then we were shown to our villa. We had decided on a Premium Deluxe Pool Villa because it had its own pool and had access to the club facilities which included breakfast, club lounge, afternoon tea and evening cocktails (well worth it in our opinion).

The villa is amazing. It has a nice decked area with day bed, pool and loungers, a balcony, a bedroom with separate lounge and a gorgeous bathroom with a roll top bath – luxury!

So far the service has been amazing and nothing is too much trouble. We had an issue with our TV quite late one night, we called down and they were up within minutes to fix it.

We had lunch in “Coast” which is the beach front bar of the hotel and had two amazing Neapolitan pizzas cooked in their stone pizza oven. Then we relaxed by the pool then, after cocktails, went over to the Bluport mall for a look around and had an amazing ice cream in “Swensens” ice cream parlour.

We went to bed quite early tonight as we’d had a very long day and we wanted to be refreshed for the following day.
